Matthew 18:2-5 says, “Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.’” The children of Freedom House are valued for who they are in the Kingdom of God. In 1 Samuel 2:18, the bible says “But Samuel ministered before the LORD, even as a child, wearing a linen ephod”. Imagine a little child witnessing before the Lord, but that is exactly what Samuel did, and that is what God calls all of us to do in Matthew 18. Often times, we in our human nature, forget that even a little child has the same access to God as we do, as well as His gifts and love. Children do not need to be adults before they are able to worship, love, and serve God. However, children need adults to let them know that they are able to serve God and become leaders in Him. They need to see God’s love and gifts modeled, they need to be instructed in God’s knowledge and wisdom so that they can begin to see how God is moving in their lives and recognize His presence. They need encouragement to walk in Him and their gifts for Him. Children need to know that they have the same power of Christ in them that we do in us. At Freedom House Kids Church, we believe in encouraging and loving the children to connect with God wherever they are in their life NOW. We live in a time where our children need to be able to know that they have a direct line to God. They need to know how to depend on Him, trust Him, love Him, and pray without ceasing. Our children need to be stronger than ever before in God and it is our duty, our passion, and our love for them to grow, increase their faith and knowledge so that they may be strong and wise Soldiers for God.
